Spyware and smartphones are now linked together as developers target Android mobile devices. Spyware and malware developers may only direct attacks on Google’s open mobile platform as the mobile industry continues to grow, Forbes said in a report.
Lookout, a smartphone security company that monitors apps, reported that one-third of all mobile users, including Android or Apple, may come across an unsafe link this year.
According to research, up to a million Android-devices may be infected with malware this year.
Attackers are using new distribution techniques, such as malvertising and upgrade attacks through Android and Android’s Market.
