A new study by the American Psychological Association at California State University said that too much time spent on Facebook may lead people to suffer psychologically.
Among the adverse effects yielded from the study was trouble in sleeping, higher levels of anxiety, depression, and stomach aches, being more narcissistic and showing more signs of other psychological disorders, including antisocial behaviors, mania, and aggressive tendencies. Students who use more technology are likely to miss more school and are more likely to also use alcohol.
“Facebook depression,” is deļ¬ned as a depression that develops when preteens and teens spend a great amount of time on social media sites, such as Facebook, and then begin to exhibit classic symptoms of depression. The quest to be cool extends far beyond who sits where at the cafeteria table.
